Big news for resources research!
The new £1M programme on Geological Hydrogen will investigate whether natural geological processes can be stimulated to generate low-carbon hydrogen underground, where this approach could work, and its potential to support more sustainable and secure fertiliser production.
Researchers from across the University of Oxford, including three researchers involved in Oxford EARTH, will combine their expertise in geoscience, machine learning, economics and social science to deliver this innovative work.
This programme addresses Oxford EARTH’s critical gases research theme and represents an important step towards tackling the challenge of securing the resources society needs in ways that are both sustainable and equitable.
